Ghana

As I have earlier mentioned I am going to Ghana for two weeks with my friend L. We are to work as volunteers at an orphanage in the capital city Accra. This is our project work for the final year of school and we have been dreaming about the travel for about six months now. The job assignments will be quite simple, like feed the children, help with homework or just play around with them, but I think just living in a total different country will be challenging enough! Speaking about living in another country, we will have the opportunity to experience the real Ghanaian culture and way of living because we are going to live in a Ghanaian family. We do not know who they are yet or if we are going to have water or electricity but I am looking forward to find out!
I am So excited to go on this journey, but at the same time I do not feel like we are going at all. No travel fever, no packing thoughts, no airplane fear, no anything. I think it is probably because we have had a lot of trouble funding money for the trip. Not until Christmas did we know if we both could go. Tomorrow we will go to get inoculated against all the possible diseases and maybe after that I will feel that we are actually going.

Even though I am not feeling any travel fever, I cannot wait for the day to come when we sit on the plane that will take us to Ghana and the closer it gets, the more I am longing!
